Morning run, breakfast, hot bath; feeling very relaxed & content...

Full weekend, for once. ::happysigh::

Caved in (not that I ever put up much resistance) and bought the Master and Commander dvd; have, in fact, been spending too much money recently ... I'm well into The Mauritius Command already & wantwantwant! the next few volumes. (While my guilty conscience nags, enough with the fanish self-indulgence, I should at least read Dusinberre's Aspects of Empire in Achaemenid Sardis first, considering, if nothing else, the kind of money it cost...)

And there are cds I'd like... I picked up a compilation Forbidden not Forgotten. Suppressed Music 1938 - 1945 at work a while ago, and almost instantly fell in love with Gideon Klein's Partita für Streicher; now I've become fascinated with the pieces by K. A. Hartmann and would really like to hear more. ::le sigh:: My main problem is that with classical music, especially more modern classical music, I'm so utterly at sea, I don't even know where to begin looking.

Things to do, in spite of the rain... buy gift wrap paper and a card for my sister's birthday present; buy ingredients for the Brandteigkrapfen (& bake them); buy henna; paper for my printer.

[Oh and - public service announcement of sorts... if anyone is sick already of fangirlish squeeing about all things nautical... you might want to consider defriending me now, seeing as there are sixteen more volumes and no sign yet of me getting bored... ;) ]

[ETA: Oh my. There's some serious addiction threatening when the first, unthinking choice of gift wrap paper for someone who's yet to show any indication of being even remotely interested in anything naval is one decorated with ships...]
