I'm meeting my sister for an advent market stroll at six, but ::sigh:: I'd rather stay at home. It's raining, or snowing, or both, there's an icy wind, and I'm tired, tired, tired, even if I was only at work for five hours. Up too long, strange nightmares in the morning.

I'm breaking a habit here, because I rarely, if ever, recommend anything - review, rave about, ramble, bitch, whine... but people's tastes differ, and most of the time I'm too insecure and/or too lazy to actually go out of my way and say, go forth, oh people on my friendslist, and check this out.

However. Check this out.

Aynur is a Turkish/Kurdish singer whom I first saw in Crossing the Bridge where she utterly blew me away, singing Ahmedo in an abandoned turkish bath. Amazing voice, and it doesn't matter at all if one doesn't understand the lyrics... Keçe Kurdan has barely left my cd player for the last two weeks or so, and her new cd is (hopefully) on its way here. I'm aware her music won't be to everyone (or anyone's) taste, but I think she's well worth giving a chance.

On the hmv.co.uk website.

Her own website doesn't work for me, but maybe that's my browser's fault.
