My (future) landlord emails back that there have been, quote, unquote, ein paar Komplikationen caused by the burst pipe in the flat above, and he hopes I'll be able to move in next week. Gah. What am I supposed to do with that? Postpone the move? Hope for the best?

Also got a letter from my credit card company that someone has apparently been using my credit card data. Quite a bit. Phone calls, more complications. *sigh*

Painting shelves and writing Russian homework, since I only have to be at work at noon.

Hell and damnation! You have my entire sympathy. Data thieves and burst main pipes: two of the worst nightmares in ordinary life. I hope you get out of it all right.

It might interest you that I have decided to restrict some of my more controversial posts to a group of Catholics and other persons who feel they can cope with them without feeling outraged. This is to say that you could possibly re-friend me without being in danger of feeling insulted in your very being - which was not my intention in any case, but some people put more value on certain things than others. (I, for instance, don't give a damn who or what the other person goes to bed with. It is the attempt to reverse nature and re-engineer man - carried out, in the main, by wholly straight persons whose view of bi- and homo-sexuality is often wholly mythological - that makes me come out fighting.)

Thank you - the credit card issue isn't a problem, I'll get a new card and have to sign that I really didn't make these purchases and won't be charged, and the flat issue will hopefully resolve itself, too.

I've read that entry, and I'll think about it, but to be perfectly honest, this isn't an 'out of sight, out of mind' issue. There are several people on my friendslist for whom gay rights aren't something to put between quotation marks, but a daily, very personal concern. They don't try to reverse or re-engineer anything or anyone, they want to be happy with their partners, to be able to be open about their relationships, and to be respected - which I do believe is their right, no quotation marks.

Can I *hug* you for that response?

Who am I to refuse a hug? ;) Although on second thoughts I probably should have deleted his original comment along with his next one, which made him the first person I ever banned from my journal. I'm sorry you had to read that at all; it won't happen again.

What I wanted to say this morning, but didn't quite get out, because I was in a bit of a rush and my brain was still half-asleep... I feel almost guilty accepting the *hugs*, because it should really be a self-evident thing. You shouldn't have to say that.

Would you be able to move in with your parents for a few nights?

About your credit card.... I've always been terrified of that happening. Joe had his number stolen twice -- both times after shopping from Amazon.com. I've used Amazon.com and Amazon.de for years without a problem, but it always makes me think....

I got the bill yesterday, and from the dates of the transactions I'm pretty sure now what the problem was - I've tried to donate money to a site I support, or wanted to support, and they had a PayPal glitch. The first unauthorised transaction happened on the day after that, and it was the first time I'd used my credit card that month.
