Sometimes I really regret that I don't have more German speaking people on my friendslist, because this? Pure comedy gold.

To briefly summarise—Tyrolian village (let's call it Mutters, because that's what it's actually called) traditionally celebrates St. Nikolaus by several times during the day firing a historic gun, whose barrel they insert into one end of a large wooden cone in order to amplify the sound of the shot. Apparently also traditionally, people from the neighbouring village (Natters) will attempt to steal this cone. They are, however, only allowed to do that from Dec. 5th, 12.00 until Dec. 6th, 12.00. They stole it the night before. Drama ensued, an ultimatum was issued and rejected, the police was involved, the major of Natters thinks this was an unnecessary overreaction to a Brauchtums-Schalk while the major of Mutters claims it was burglary ('klassischer Einbruch'), and it's really even funnier in German.

Darn I wish my German was better than it is... But it sounds brilliant even so! :)

ETA: This is a very random question, but do you remember in which Torchwood episode(s) we got a nighttime shot of Cardiff from the air? (Apart from the very beginning of Day One?)

Sorry, I don't. Jack is standing on top of some building at night in Greeks Bearing Gifts, but I don't think there's a wider shot of Cardiff...
