I should be in bed and asleep. My sleeping hours all over the place since the holidays and I more or less sleepwalked (or sleepsat) through work today.

Yesterday, Annie Leibowitz exhibition with R., where we met B. (formerly from work & still much missed there, but now working as a secretary in the Institute for Classical Archaeology, which somehow is just weird; and it's even weirder to hear that apparently people still remember me there...) with her boyfriend & mother; had coffee (or heisse lauwarme Schokolade and Topfenstrudel, in my case), then off with R. to watch Fatih Akin's Soul Kitchen, which I ended up liking quite a bit. My brain is so dead and kind of... uninvolved these days it took a while, but it was a nice, if not extraordinarily original story, quite funny (no, really; I know what you're thinking, un_crayon_rouge), and he does this thing with the music that is always very, very awesome.

Then finished BSG, more about that later. Possibly maybe. It's kind of pathetic that somehow I don't even manage to catch up with writing about TV shows any more. There are private-locked notes about Merlin, DW and BSG all over my journal, plus some left-over TW stuff that I never got around to posting. Dollhouse episodes to be watched. Undecided about whether to start BH.

On a slightly related note, moljn commented a few entries back that EoT, or at least Jack's scene, was filmed months before CoE ever aired, which I never really considered before, and somehow it makes me strangely happy that this ending would still have existed, Independently of whether or not there was going to be a fourth season of TW, or who was going to be in it. And no, I don't pretend that makes any sense. Going to bed now.

I'm with you on the sleep. Ever since I've been back in Ohio, I haven't been able to sleep -- which definitely isn't good since I have to be at work in the morning. I go back on night shifts again next week (*sigh*), and I'm so NOT looking forward to that, because now I basically won't have a regular sleep schedule again until May.

Faith Akin... I've only ever seen one of his movies -- Im Juli, which I liked. Really just one of those films that rambles all over the place without any real purpose, but which is somehow very enjoyable just because of that. I had Gegen die Wand checked out from the library a few months ago, but I never did have a chance to watch it.

(Also, the AWZ boys are going to be in New York in late March. Oh, how I'd love to go and get a glimpse of them. Aren't I pathetic?)

Gegen die Wand is rather depressing; Try Crossing the Bridge, maybe, even if you're not specifically interested in Turkish music... It's an absolutely wonderful movie about the power of music.

And you're not pathetic. Go and have fun!! :)

Oh that makes perfect sense. Because what CoE did to Jack was horrific (or what he did, was horrific, you know what I mean), and everyone was wondering 'What about the Doctor?' and writing fic where they met, and speculating if Jack could ever recover. So that little snippet was needed just to tie things up. :)

It's interesting, though, how Jack's arc(s) tend to get tied up and set into motion in small but important ways in DW... Or maybe I should now say, tended?

What was I thinking? *blinks* I'm actually looking forward to seeing Soul Kitchen, though I don't know when that will be, because it's doubtful they'll show it in Spain...

After Gegen die Wand, that Fatih Akin and 'funny' are kind of mutually exclusive? :)

Oh, right! See, I didn't think of that because I re-watched Im Juli with S. not long ago, so the "Gegen die Wand"-Akin wasn't foremost in my mind. I guess Akin likes to alternate the fun with the oh-so-not-fun: "Kurz und Schmerzlos" vs. "Solino", "Im Juli" vs. "Gegen die Wand"; so probably the next one wil be another shocker...
